The first “tiling century”

Jonathan France has become the first person ever to complete a “tiling century” – i.e. he has visited all 10,000 squares in a 100×100 square. You can view his summary here .  Jon finally finished his century on New Year’s Eve. He had repeatedly tried to visit the Coryton refinery area near the mouth of the River Thames in the past, but finally got there, apparently after a careful analysis of the Thames tide times.

Followers of Jon should be able to see the ride on Strava here – photos included.

Jonathan’s square

Huge congratulations to him.

Bonus commentary: Whilst Jonathan’s all-time square is now 101×101, I notice he managed a complete 100×100 in 2018 alone. The rest of us have some serious catching up to do….
